I thought someone who had a photographic memory was able to take a mental photograph of anything that they saw and then recall it in total detail. For example, if they saw a a row of parked cars, they’d be able to remember later in the day all the car registration plate numbers by recalling the scene and all its details - does that make sense? If you can do things like that, I’d say you have a photographic memory. I can use a skill like that some times. If I can’t remember where I’ve left something, I’ll look at mental photos of rooms I’ve been in until I ’see’ the item I need.
Also called Eidetic memory, it Is the ability to recollect an image so vividly that it appears to be real.
not too sure
Some people have an extraordinary memory. They can remember things in great detail after seeing them just once.
For example, if you show them a long list of items or a picture, they’ll be able to tell you everything about it, some might even be able to draw the image completely from memory.
Such a memory like having a photograph of everything you can see, that’s why it’s known as a ‘photographic memory’.
